Cost: $850 per 9-week course

Get across the finish line. Whether you’ve got a polished first draft, a project that’s been “sitting on the shelf,” or you’re about to launch a query mailing, this class can help. In-class exercises delve into analyzing producer’s notes and coverage, solving long-term structure and character issues, and improving dialogue and pacing. Established Writers Salon  *NEW*

Cost: $50 for first session (special introductory rate)

Established screenwriters have the opportunity to meet with other writers in order to network and share ideas in a comfortable setting facilitated by Marilyn Horowitz.  This salon is intended for the advanced writer, i.e. with produced credits or at the very least a number of scripts under their belt.  The first Established Writers Salon will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008.

 

 

 

Emerging Writers Salon  *NEW*

Cost: $50 for first session (special introductory rate)

An opportunity for emerging screenwriters to learn advanced techniques from Marilyn Horowitz that will help them improve and speed-along their process, while networking with fellow writers at their own level of expertise.  This salon is designed for the beginning writer, hoping to complete a first screenplay.  The first Emerging Writers Salon will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.

In Our Dreams: The writer’s journey, How to use dreams in films

Use your dreams to tap into an enormous reservoir of images, feelings, and characters! This workshop shows you how to use your dreams to enrich your writing. You learn how to:

- remember and decode your dreams

- use your dream images to enhance a story that you’re developing

- use dream analysis techniques to get through writer’s block and self-censoring

- use a series of writing exercises to unlock your “dreaming mind” while you’re awake
